What it is

Overview

Same-day treatment means your implants are placed and a fixed provisional set of teeth is attached in a single visit, so you never go without teeth. It is the cornerstone of how we practice — appropriate for the large majority of full-arch patients, with rare exceptions your specialist will identify at consultation.

A typical surgery day runs in one continuous, carefully planned sequence: any failing teeth are removed, the implants are placed in the positions mapped during your digital planning, and a fixed provisional bridge is attached before you leave. You arrive with a failing smile and go home the same day with fixed teeth.

The reason this works is preparation. Because your case is planned on a 3D scan before surgery, Dr. Jean-Charles knows in advance where the bone is strongest and how to position each implant for immediate stability — the requirement for attaching teeth to implants on the day they’re placed.

We are deliberately honest about one thing: the teeth you receive on surgery day are a fixed provisional, engineered for healing. The permanent restoration — stronger, fully customized, and made for the long term — follows once your implants have integrated with the bone. Both are fixed; neither comes out at night.

Who it’s for

Most full-arch implant patients. A small number of cases (for example, certain infections or bone conditions) call for a staged approach — your consultation determines which is right for you.

The process

What treatment looks like

  1. Consultation & imaging3D scan and evaluation to confirm you’re a same-day candidate.
  2. Same-day surgeryImplants placed and a fixed provisional attached in one visit, typically under IV sedation.
  3. HealingImplants integrate over the following months while you wear the fixed provisional.
  4. Final restorationYour permanent teeth are placed once integration is complete.
Timeline & what to expect: On the day of surgery you leave with a fixed, non-removable set of provisional teeth — not a temporary you take in and out. Your permanent, custom-crafted final restoration is placed after your implants have healed and fully integrated with the bone, typically over the following months.

Same-Day Implants FAQ

Is same-day right for everyone?
It’s right for all but rare cases. Some situations — certain infections or specific bone conditions — call for a staged approach instead. Your specialist confirms this at consultation.
Are the same-day teeth my final teeth?
On the day of surgery you leave with a fixed, non-removable set of provisional teeth — not a temporary you take in and out. Your permanent, custom-crafted final restoration is placed after your implants have healed and fully integrated with the bone, typically over the following months.
What actually happens on surgery day?
In one planned sequence: any failing teeth are removed, your implants are placed in the digitally planned positions, and a fixed provisional bridge is attached — typically under IV sedation. You go home the same day with fixed teeth.
What can I eat while I heal?
You’ll stay on a softer diet while the implants integrate with the bone — we give you clear written guidance. Full chewing function returns with the permanent restoration after healing.
Will I be comfortable during the procedure?
Implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, and IV sedation is available so most patients are comfortable throughout the procedure. Some swelling and soreness in the first few days is normal and is typically manageable with the aftercare plan we send you home with.

Please note: routine dental implants are not a Medicaid or Medicare benefit and are primarily paid out-of-pocket or through third-party financing. If you have a credit score below 650, no co-signer, and require financing, we likely cannot help. Tooth loss with a medical cause may be different — see our medical insurance page.
